hey everybody!
Lindsey Roylance

This week was crazy amazing! We had exchanges on Wednesday so I got to go to Greenbay home of the Packers! Loved it so much. We walked by the Fox river at night and it was beautiful! So much fun.

1-6 week training was friday so..... I got to see Sister Harris!!!!... and my old MTC district. It was great, we had so much fun catching up and we learned a lot too. Practiced teaching with the pamphlets and the pictures in the book of mormon. Interesting but useful.

Friday night we had an oct-taco fest in our ward for a fundraiser for the young men. Well there was an auction for food items and such but we had to leave early. Lets just say that the branch is amazing and thinks of its missionaries cuz we received most of the food in the next days. Snickerdoodles, zuchini bread, homemade bread, and ghost cookies!

Saturday we had a baptism here in Stevens Point! It was the Elders investigator and we were so excited! It was my first and the Spirit was so strong, William was excited, and such a big event that Elder Warren and Sister Bennett (past missionaries got clearance to come too). We also had an investigator Joyce come to the baptism and she thought it was really neat. Sister Martin also sang and brought the Spirit in Come thou Fount. Amazing night.

Sunday, I spoke in church on the Sermon on the Mount. Joyce came (my first that attended church) so we were pretty stoked.

Stevens Point is weird and exactly opposite of Utah. Each year this city holds its trick or treating on a Sunday. Not on Halloween! weird, so the members drive to Wapaca so they can trick or treat too. Found it interesting. We can't be out past 530 that night so no trick or treating for us or handing out Book of Mormons as candy. :)

Also, challenge. Try Limberger cheese. I did this week brought by Brother Taplin. Well it smells worse than stinky feet. like really, but hey it doesn't taste too bad!

Great week. Lots of great experiences filled with the Spirit. The work is really moving here in Stevens Point!

hey ya'll
Lindsey Roylance to you

So this week was much like last week. Full of cancelled first lessons. I know that these people would embrace our message if we can get in there!! Nevertheless, we keep workin. There must be somethin i need to learn here in this experience. Maybe importance of back up plan? Increase faith? But the area is still awesome!

We also decided that potential investigators and others we are trying to track down at home or on the phone all have a secret agenda in avoiding us. We know that one girl was home and didn't answer. We know that one lady has to be home some time, after all we check like twice a week! ha and we are convinced that this less active that we met on the street purposely gave us his first name only so we couldn't look him up and track him down. But no Louis is in our records.. Ha the secret agendas we missionaries convince ourselves of.

This week on the 17th, I hit my month mark. Crazy! only 17 more. It also hit 35 degrees today, we are hitting the thrift shops for coats today. yay! This week we had some library time and I browsed the mormon.org site. Way cool. Everyone needs to watch Brandon Flowers (from band the Killers), Lindsey Stirling (famous violinist), and Larry Gelwix (forever strong coach). Watch their videos. Sweet!

So I met a lady at stake conference. her name was sister nobel. Well, she was saying she was baptized many years ago and still keep in touch with the missionary that baptized her. Even visits him. We asked why, and she said that she was his only baptism. Well we then learned that her daughter was Sister smith from our ward. So because of this missionary's one baptism brought about the Smith family. The smiths are wonderful. They feed missionaries every week. Sister Smith is relief Society pres, Bro smith is ward mission leader, and they are a prime example of a mormon family with good values. All because of a missionary's one baptism! Change one life, you change many :)

Well, love you all. Would love to hear from you guys!

hey er' body!

So real quick! this week was slow and kind of a downer on parts but it was redeemed!! This week we had four first lessons cancel :( Super depressing. We also called all ysa. None answered. We tracked down some ppl. None were there. Great week eh?! However we had some great experiences, thererfore it was redeemed.

So we had a less active Mai come to our first appt with andrew. He didn't show up. But as we were about to leave, our hopes came true. Mai said, "Well you could teach me." Wow! she truly wanted to be taught and wants to come back to church. We taught her the restoration and she has such God given faith its incredible. Sad thing tho is she told us she is going back home two days later. (she has only been here a few weeks) so we set up another appt the next day to get in what we could and she was excited about that! We taught her the plan of salvation. Awesome to see what she remembers and recalls from when she was baptized years prior. So she is back in Appleton and we will try to contact missionaries there. :)

So fun experience, there is an investigator that is getting baptized next saturday. He is on fire and so involved. He watched all 10 hours of conference! Anyway there is a sister in the ward that is single. They are both in late 30s prolly. But point is is that we are going to set them up! we see the connection. We pray for a family to teach, now we are going to make a family! ha but really. Pretty exciting.

I met a lady that is 86 years old. and she has 86 nieces and nephews. Beat that anybody? Ya crazy! think of her nieces kids and grand kids. it prolly goes into the hundreds!!!

Me and Sister martin have definitely hit the gym this week. Well actually, we workout in the skinny laundry room so our neighbors don't yell at us from downstairs. But I'm pretty sure my right splits are comin along and i'm workin on the six pack abs! There will be a further update comin soon.

So best experience was last night. We have a goal of 10 baptismal invites a week as a district. That means 2 for me and sister martin. Well sunday came and we had none. It was hard cuz all our first lessons canceled. so we took it upon us with great faith and strength of the Lord to do it last night. As we were tracting, yes tracting, we found some great people. A few that we will return to and 2 new investigators. One of those, sister martin asked if he found out that what we are saying is true and that the Bom is true if he would be baptized.... Guess what, he said yes. A firm yes. Miracles are amazing. I thot before the mission that baptismal invite in first lesson was crazy and now I have a testimony that it works in tracting as well. Invitation is key. It is key for them to know the goal we have for them, God has for them, and that they can have for themselves. Wonderful experience.

Well I love ya'll see ya next week!!

hey ya'll!
Lindsey Roylance

So this week has been grand! I loved conference so much and learned oh so much! I don't have time to tell all the great things i learned so everybody go watch it! but i loved Pres Monsons, hollands, bednars, oscarson's, maynes, and so on!

This lady we went and visited. her name is bessy and she turned 100 this week! Holy cow! She is also living on her own. Oh my goodness. Poor lady has no family left so i want to go visit her again but she is sweet.

We also received two new investigators this week! I am so excited to start teaching them of the message of the Restored Gospel and love them already! One we met street contacting. her name is Saffron. The other we met while doing a booth at the college and his name is Andrew. both promising and i can't wait for our appts!

The humidity this week was unreal. I feel like you could eat the air. It was like misters were going off everywhere. But kinda cool. Also bad news. for conference, no one really showed up at the church building, so me and sister martin each had to eat 4 cinnamon rolls! couldn't let em go to waste....

Also the power of prayer was amazing this week! So we got a new phone (big hassle) and the ups was coming between 2 and 5 for his second visit and we had to be there or it wouldn't be delivered. We really needed the phone. we prayed of course and were going to be there from 2-3. guess when he showed? 2:57! ya that was exciting! Also, we were in a predicament thursdya. it was raining and we were volunteering at the Ymca and Michael said he wouldn't let us walk home in the rain so he offered us a ride. Of course we can't but didn't know how to tell him. sister martin prayed that there woud be rain stoppage so we could get out of there and lo and behold it stopped. However, halfway home it started raining... should've prayed to get us all the way home ;)

Love ya'll and hope to hear from everyone next week!
I'm working on sending pics but my camera isn't showing my recent pictures. maybe next week
