Trio Power part 2

Hey ya'll! Hope you had a fantastic week. Can't believe it's almost May! This week was excellent. Said goodbye to Sister Proffit :( Then got two new companions Sister Kilger and Sister Reed. They are both super hard working missionaries and I'm so excited for the miracles that we will see in this area.
Last monday, while at Culver's Frozen Custard, we met a guy named Archie. Archie's father is a preacher and has taught his son amazing standards similar to the church. Chastity, swearing, drinking. What do you know! Excited to teach him the gospel. Moral of the story: Culver's is the place to be to find people!

Had a lesson with our children investigators. Sarah 9, noah 12, taylor 14. Had a lesson about putting on the armour of God. Pictures attached. I think it went well :)

Went to track down a less active and sadly she had moved. Got to talk to the lady there, Lady with White Hair (we don't remember her name) for like 35 minutes about all the miracles she has seen in her life. She has some serious faith. Going back Wednesday to teach her. #miracle

Well, this has gotta be quick. Remember the Lord works miracles. As we look for them we will see them! Wisconsin is the place to be!

p.s. also cleaned out the fridge this week. With missionaries moving in and out you never know how long stuff has been around....

Oh my goodness! I forgot the most important part! Skylor, my investigator from Stevens Point got baptized Saturday!!!! He is 11 years old and his mom is a returning less active. Skylor got money for his baptism from his grandparents.... and he of course paid his tithing right after. Way to go! Now just the father! Anyways, Miracles! :) The work of the Lord is hastening. What a great opportunity to be a part of it :)

Trio power part 2????
Lindsey Roylance to you

Hope everyone had a great Easter holiday! We had stake conference yesterday and it was quite the experience. Elder Godoye from the Seventy came and he was a hoot! Inspiring yet hilarious. Never saw someone grab the microphone and shake it saying "The true church is back!"

For lunch we went to the Jensens. They are the best family. We hunted for easter eggs of course and heard a great story about brother Jensen. Apparently when their daughter Amanda came home from her mission, he wasn't there. He was in Jail!!!! He owns an equipment business. Someone borrowed an expensive piece of equipment, didn't  give it back and went bankrupt. As to not lose out on thousands bro jensen rightfully took it back. But longstory short, he was cuffed, put in a police car, and wore a orange jumpsuit for 3 days! Until all charges were dropped and he was innocent. Moral of the story, surprises coming off the plane are not what any missionary wants!

Then dinner with the bonners. Best people ever. Sister Bonner is our third companion since Sister Ruiz has left us. Oh wait, not needed anymore. In 2 days, Sis Proffit goes home and I receive a new companion.... nope 2 new companions! I am once again in a trio. Life is sure an adventure!

Oconomowoc is famous for its many many lakes. We toured the Oconomowoc lake walk this week and it is the place to be! We got to talk to many people about the gospel. It was great :)

We taught Angela this week and boy were we thorough. She hadn't read. We read with her. Miraculously 1 Ne 11 worked perfect with our focus on the restoration. We made sure there was no room for confusion. I mean after all, 7 years of investigating there should be good understanding. So we talked about how Christ set up His church with apostles and authority, that it was lost during apostasy and now back again! She understood and told us she "just needs to see that God is active, this is active and not just something in history." Perfect! Great insight on her concern :)

Got permission to call and talk to Bryan about his baptism. Awesome!

Love you all. Hope you have a great week :)

Family History all the way!
Lindsey Roylance to you

Hey everybody. This week has been so so. But filled with miracles!

First, Bryan from Stevens Point (where I was a couple weeks ago) got baptized!!!!!!!!! This was amazing to see because I was fortunate enough to work with him for a few months. We found him on a December night. It was negative weather and he told us to come back when it was warmer. Didn't think much of it. Went back and he was interested. He started really getting into the Book of Mormon and came to church right away. He never missed a sunday. Currently unemployed, tithing was a hard commandment to accept but he has told the Sisters now that he will obey that law no matter what! He got baptized on Saturday by william who is a recent convert of 7 months. How wonderful! I shall attach a picture :) I was sad I couldn't attend being 3 hours away, but this is the Lord's work not mine.

This week we have had a big focus on family history with active members, less actives, and non members. what a wonderful tool is has been!We have been working with a less active, slowly but surely. This last time we brought up family history and she was quite excited. Next time we will help her set up her account and help her feel spirit of elijah and we hope she feels the desire to go to the temple herself!
With members, we have taught two families who are truly feelign the Spirit of Elijah and are ready to take names to the temple! (with one we found over a 150. and another we found 130. I'm telling ya, this is great stuff! This is for generation members too that feel they have done it all.)
Any questions about this cool finding? Just email me and ask. It's a new tool that really is hastening the Lord's work.

We had quite the miracle this week. We are working with the Cantrell family who are less active. Amanda is 17 and desires to go on a mission. Since we have been working with her, she has really brought her strong testimony out and desires to be fully active whether her family is or not. This great example has brought her mom as well. Miracle is we are beginning to work with her 16 year old sister Becka who lacks said testimony. She came to Young Womens wednesday and church yesterday!!!! Unheard of. Usually claims sick. Greatest thing.

Well I love you all. Check out easter.mormon.org for a cool easter video!

Cruisin Thru the Ghetto Eatin Kringle!....
Lindsey Roylance to you

This week we had Zone training meeting all the way in kenosha an hour and a half away! Not the smartest location on the Zone leaders part but we took full advantage with breakfast in Racine on the way. We stopped at the famous O&H bakery and bought a huge kringle which we ate at Lake Michigan. Super great! Oh and Racine is really ghetto so it was super legit.

There is a new focus on family history as we talk to people about the gospel and it was quite successful this week! We met this lady who volunteers at a museum which is open in the summer. Well, perks of being a missionary, she gave us a free tour of the museum and then we proceeded to tell her about familysearch.org. Great stuff! I didn't realize how many people were interested in family history. Not just the old folk.... Lately I have been into it too, and it just gets me more excited about the gospel.

We vacuumed the apartment this week. Rephrase: I vacuumed the apartment. So this apartment hasn't been vacuumed in 6 months. Nasty! I guess it broke a few months back. When i got here, we got a new one without a bag! Finally, I couldn't take it and so we knocked on the neighbors door. A man was kind to let us use it to which we filled it up. Gross!!

Last monday night we had a lesson with Angela. Miracle!!! So, we go in there, teach her a lesson with the intent to extend a baptismal date. Keep in mind she has been investigating for 7 years, has never had a date (because she would always decline firmly) or read book of mormon. She lately has begun the Book of Mormon and we extended a date to her. We helped her to see it was a goal to work towards. We went over the baptismal interview questions and the only issue she has is knowing if Joseph Smith is a prophet and she knows she has to read and pray to know. With that, she accepted a date! She set it herself (which was just fine for us) and it's when their kids will be here. Can i just say miracle?

To back that up, tragedy occured Sunday morning. President called to tell Sister Ruiz she is needed in marshfield as of Tuesday. We had 48 hours notice and now we are losing our trio power! How sad. New motto is "Don't procrastinate doing all the fun things in a companionship. You never know when one will be ET'd!" ET=emergency transfer.
To top that off, I will be losing Sister Proffit in 2 weeks. :(
But I'm grateful to have had my time with these two!

Conference was amazing. We got to watch it with some investigators and the messages were perfect! If you didn't get a chance to catch them all I recommend it! Hope ya'll have a great week!

What a week in Oconomowoc!
Lindsey Roylance to you

So, this week has been great. Miracles miracles. Thank you all for the amazing birthday packages and letters. I love you all!

We had exchanges Wednesday, and we met Bannon who is our new investigator. He has never met with missionaries but knows all about the church, has read the Book of Mormon, and believes its true and that he'll join eventually. Just lack of desire to change. Well, good thing we're meeting with him!
That same night, a member brought a friend who we got to introduce Familysearch.org to. Great way to be brougth in the gospel don't you think?

Our investigator Angela of 7 years is progressing slowly but surely! She read four chapters in the Book of Mormon last week and made it to sacrament meeting! How exciting!

Saturday was the womens conference. Being part of the South Milwaukee Stake we got to drive to Milwaukee and have a day filled with the spirit. We had workshops that started at three in which the temple president and mission president both came to teach us. Then of course the broadcast was amazing and historical! Just the first song, "Teach me to Walk in the Light" really brought the spirit and made me so happy. Always good to see home through the conference center! After we went to Kopps. Best custard in the state. Legit! So delicious.

Love ya'll. Have a great week!
