Well, everybody. It's true. I have reached the ripe age of 20. It's been a glorious day today! Many wonderful plans. We got permission to go just outside our area to go to Holy Hill, a catholic shrine for Mary this morning. Then my wonderful companions took me out for Mexican food. What a treat!
We also have been working with the Cantrell's, a less active family. Amanda is 17 and desires to serve a mission. She is the sweetest thing I've ever seen and has a big heart. She desires to come to church but has been staying home to take care of her sick mom and sister. They just happen to be sick a lot. Well, in working with Amanda and teaching her the missionary lessons to prep her for a mission, the Spirit whispered to her that she needs to come to church whether or not her mom and sister do. It also whispered missionary work within her own friends. She is so excited about the gospel and gave us like 5 names of her friends and we didn't even tell her to do any of this. Power of the Spirit right there!
This week has been a week of miracles. I absolutely love this ward. So golden. Best member missionaries I've experienced who have so many friends they want to share the gospel with!
We taught Olivia, a convert of 1 month (but has attended for 3 years but couldn't be baptized til 18), the plan of salvation. This was at her neighbors house because of the situation with her mom. Well, mid-lesson guess who knocks at the door? Her mom! The family is going thru a really hard time and her mom came in to ask if we could pray with her for her family. Talk about heart softened. It was very spiritual and a great step in the right direction. Hopefully Sister Ruiz can practice her portugese on her soon!
Saturday we went over to the Jordan's whose story is the most legit I've ever heard. Talk about hard core druggies, rehab, homeless, living in a tent and more. But guess what? You'd never know it because they are the cutest couple and are going to be sealed in May!!! Now we get to teach Bro. Jordan's kids the gospel. Greatness!
Well, what a wonderful spirit filled week it has been. I Love Missions.
Hope ya'll have a great week!
Sister Roylance
